On June 14, 2010, Councilman Fernando Cabrera introduced an experimental phone number feature allows constituents to contact his office via text message.
As part of Councilman Cabrera’s efforts to strengthen communication with constituents and make his office easily accessible to all community residents, a new text message help desk was created. Constituents can text (347) 541-5768 to receive assistance with their issues and concerns. All standard texting rates apply.
The new text message help desk supplements the office’s current constituent affairs system which includes assistance via phone, email, online and its district office
“We are in a new age of communication,” says Council Member Cabrera. “Today, calling isn’t always the first option and my goal is to have as many open lines of communication to my office as possible,” the Councilman continued.
